Adding New Leadership in the New Year!
January 7, 2016Happy New Year! As we look back over 2015, we have seen tremendous growth here at Get It. It has been exciting to watch the growth at Mamapedia, which we acquired 16 months ago. Every day, numerous moms come to the site, some to read the new articles, others to ask questions or share their wisdom with others dealing with similar parenting challenges. As our team came together to brainstorm ways we could grow as a company, we realized that we have millions of job seekers and employers who come to our industry-specific job sites. Just as moms have shared experiences, so do truckers, photographers, and interior designers. So what if we could expand beyond job searching and deliver other communities?
We have had this and other dreams like it in the past, some that we’ve been able to deliver, but many others that live as business plans or sketches. As most software companies know, innovation is limited by the capacity of the engineering team, and our team was at its limit. In 2014, we decided to grow by acquisition. In 2015, we made the decision to invest significantly in our engineering team. Not only have we hired additional engineers, but we hired two great leaders, Andrew Csontos and Mike Lore. Andrew and Mike both worked with our CEO, Jake Peebles, at Outtask.com, which was founded in 1999. In 2006, Concur Technologies, based in Redmond, WA, acquired Outtask to merge Outtask’s Cliqbook travel technology with Concur’s market-leading expense service. Mike and Andrew both stayed at Concur for over 9 years. Mike focused on scalability, security, and architecture of the Concur platform, which handles tens of millions of transactions per year. Andrew led the team which continually improved Concur’s user interface, helping simplify complex business rules and processes so that millions of corporate travelers worldwide could spend more time on their job and less time booking travel or filing expenses. After SAP acquired Concur, Mike and Andrew spent almost a year on the transition before joining us at Get It.
We are thrilled that Mike and Andrew, with their combined 45 years of software experience, have joined the Get It team. Now it’s time to turn some of our dreams into reality in 2016!
